The sauna looks complete. Why is the floor an extra?

You've chosen an indoor sauna, then noticed that the wooden floor is a separate purchase. You'd imagined stepping into an entirely timber-lined room. Does leaving the floor kit off mean something is missing?

Not necessarily. Some indoor cabins use the room's existing floor. We'd add the optional wood surface when you want its look and feel, the exact kit fits, and you understand how you'll clean around it. Settle whether the existing floor is suitable first; an accessory shouldn't be your plan for resolving a problem with the base.

Find out which floor your order actually includes

Almost Heaven describes several traditional indoor sauna ranges as using your existing flooring. Its separate cedar floor kit consists of free-standing sections made for the Respite series. That is a useful distinction: the room floor remains beneath the optional timber pieces.

Ask your supplier to show the complete cabin specification and identify any separate floor accessory. Is the photograph showing a standard inclusion, an optional kit or a finished room supplied by someone else? Have the order describe what arrives. Another manufacturer's cabin may have a different floor arrangement.

Approve the room floor before choosing the wood surface

Almost Heaven's flooring guidance asks whether the existing surface is level and water-resistant, and directs buyers to follow the flooring manufacturer's requirements. Its FAQ advises against carpet and hardwood beneath its indoor saunas. Keep those statements tied to the named manufacturer's systems rather than treating them as permission for every sauna on every floor.

Give the sauna supplier and your qualified flooring or project professional the actual model and existing floor details. Ask them to resolve suitability and any preparation before the cabin is installed. If the floor needs work, price and schedule that work separately from the optional timber kit.

Say your preferred location is a carpeted spare room. Adding a cedar accessory to the order doesn't answer whether that room is ready. The useful next step is an agreed floor proposal, then a choice about what you want underfoot once the base is suitable.

Would you prefer wood beneath your feet?

Picture entering the finished sauna. If you already like the suitable tile or concrete surface, leaving it visible may give you exactly the room you want. If the continuous wood appearance matters to you, ask to see the proposed kit inside the same cabin model.

Try a representative surface if the supplier has one available. Judge it as a personal comfort and appearance choice; we haven't tested these kits and wouldn't promise that everyone will prefer them. Ask what the proposed sections cover and where any uncovered areas remain.

How will you reach the floor when you clean?

Ask the supplier to explain the approved care routine for both the kit and the floor beneath it. Can the sections be lifted out, and where would you put them while cleaning? Have the installer demonstrate the intended arrangement at handover, using the current product instructions.

You may love the timber look and still prefer fewer loose pieces to handle. That is a reasonable reason to keep a suitable existing surface visible. Ask about replacement sections and the accessory's own support terms before buying; don't assume the cabin warranty explains every floor-kit question.

Compare the complete addition to your sauna order

Use the full cabin model when requesting the kit. Almost Heaven's product page lists named variants, including shared options for some models. Have the supplier confirm which version belongs with your order rather than choosing by room dimensions alone.

Compare the current delivered total, any fitting work and what your assembly service already includes. Ask whether you can buy the compatible accessory later if you'd prefer to live with the existing floor first. Availability, return terms and future compatibility need a supplier answer; they aren't promises we can make for your purchase.

We'd buy the kit when the wood surface is something you'll enjoy and the fit and care are clear. Our vetted wellness experts bring field experience and relationships with providers. They can help you compare the optional purchase and identify the floor questions your project team needs to settle.
