Define completion before work starts

Ask what installation, connection, testing, start-up, commissioning, finish restoration, documentation, and owner orientation are included. Record who confirms each interface is complete.

A provider’s documented commissioning or maintenance-planning capability is a useful fit label; confirm the actual scope in the project agreement.

Make controls and service access usable

At handover, identify controls, shutoffs, drains, filters, disconnects, access panels, replacement routes, and the documents the owner receives. Finished millwork or a clean installation should not obscure a required service path.

The CPSC checklist can inform general consumer awareness around home electrical safety; it does not define project-specific electrical work or code compliance.

Preserve an ownership record

Keep the final room brief, responsibility matrix, equipment information, warranty handoff, maintenance contacts, and unresolved items together. This helps an owner distinguish product service from building work later.

The best provider fit is the one with a clear, written closeout plan for the scope it actually owns.
